I was having an early dinner on Saturday at an overpriced local restaurant here in West Lafayette when the far end of the room broke out in cheers. It turned out that it was a draft party for Boilermaker Josh Lindbloom who had just been selected by the Dodgers in round 2, 61st overall. Josh is a closer with two off-speed pitches and a fastball that hits 94. Congratulations Josh! Too bad part of being a Dodger is selling your soul to the dark side.
The Giants for their part also selected a Boilermaker: 6′5 switch-hitting third baseman Dan Black. Dan was picked in Round 35. Good luck to both of these young men.
