via a poster on MCC that Ryan Rohlinger has been called up. Should be interesting. I think you could see John Bowkerish production out of him (250/300/400), albeit at a more difficult defensive position. Apparently the Giants are also thinking about using him at 2B and SS. Most scouting reports say he doesn’t have the range for SS, but he could have quite a bit of value at 2B.
I wonder who will be sent down. Ochoa perhaps?

Big news! Giants have called up Ishikawa and Sandoval. John Bowker and Steve Holm have been optioned to Fresno and Castillo is DFA’d. I agree with the Ishikawa move, but Sandoval surprised me. Hopefully we’ll see them sooner rather than later.

RF Roger Kieschnick signs. He was drafted in the third round from Texas Tech. Scouts praise his power but question his plate discipline and his ability to hit for average. Most experts regarded him a smart draft selection because he was expected to go in the first two rounds. I like the value of the pick, but I don’t trust the Giants to teach a young hitter plate discipline.
